Air to Port A forces the pistons outwards, triggering the pinion to change counterclockwise while the air is getting fatigued from Port B.
Air to Port B forces the pistons inwards, triggering the pinion to flip clockwise even though the air is getting fatigued from Port A.

Air to Port A forces the pistons outwards, leading to the pinion to switch clockwise although the air is getting fatigued from Port B.
Air to Port B forces the pistons inwards, triggering the pinion to switch counterclockwise although the air is becoming exhausted from Port A.
Spring return actuators
CCW
Air to port A forces the pistons outwards, triggering the EPTs to compress, The pinion turns counterclockwise whilst air is becoming exhausted from port B.
Reduction of air force on port A, the stored energy in the EPTs forces the pistons inwards. The pinion turns clockwise even though air is becoming exhausted from port A.

Air to port B forces the pistons outwards, creating the EPTs to compress, The pinion turns counterclockwise even though air is getting fatigued from port B.
